About the DIRT Club
Welcome to the "Discoverin' Rhode Island Treasures" Treasure Hunting Club. In these pages you will find valuable information about the origin of the DIRT club and it's founder, Rice Rice. Discoverin' Rhode Island Treasures is not just a metal detecting club, but a treasure hunting club, which means we do more than just metal detecting. We go on gold panning trips, camping trips, rock hounding trips, and many other treasure related activities.
On this website , you will also find the club photos and information on things that the club does together, like coin shows, special speakers, and the Christmas parties. There are many pictures of the club's activities, from Block Island to Quebec. Also included are old postards like from Cresent Park RI and Ocean Beach Park. This information may be valuable to your own metal detecting hobby research.
Information on prominent members including detectorists Bill Ladd, Mike Robinson, Vlad and Carol, and Bill Long Sr. are included. The Metal Detecting Tips and Tricks pages are here, along with a breakdown of the meetings held from 1999 to 2004.
